Where we live has an impact on our health. Yet, the way our environment influences our health is not well understood. My research program aims to improve our understanding of how environments ¿get under the skin¿. Specifically, my research focuses on the development of new tools and methods to improve our caracterisation of environmental exposures and our capacity to analyse the complex interactions between individuals, environments and health.

Particularly, I work with Geographic Information Systems that allow to objectively describe our environments, and with wearable sensors that collect real-time data on our position, our physiology, biology and behavior. Such rich data improves our capacity to understand the mecanisms that lead to health status and health inequalities. With such information, decision makers can make better choices to build healthy cities.
