Each year in Québec, many hundreds of individuals receive rehabilitation services after a traumatic brain injury or a spinal cord injury. At the present time, the length of stay and the intensity of the services vary significantly. Our knowledge of what represents the optimal length of stay or intensity of services in order to obtain the best rehabilitation results, and what could influence these elements, is lacking.

To offer some answers to these questions, we want to perform a collaborative systematic review of the scientific literature. Indeed, after the research question is perfected through committee work, we will then retrieve and appraise pertaining papers and make a synthesis of their results.

This synthesis will be discussed by partners of the collaborative committee to increase our understanding of their impact on actual rehabilitation practices. We will determine the facilitators and obstacles to the uptake of the results in order to adopt the knowledge translation strategy to the context of the users.
