I have applied to the PhD program in School/Applied Child Psychology at McGill University. This program offers research and clinical training that will prepare me to become a researcher, child psychologist, and professor. My clinical and research interests are related to developmental psychopathology, particularly child anxiety and depression. The study that I will be involved in is called the Maternal Adversity, Vulnerability and Neurodevelopment (MAVAN) project. Under the supervision of Dr. Ashley Wazana I will be investigating the complex roles of pre- and postnatal depression, genes, maternal care, and child gender and temperament in the development of child anxiety in order to better understand gene-environment interactions and identify interventions for at-risk mothers and children.
