Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD) brings about significant brain changes and a better understanding of their progression is required. Because medical treatments increasingly target specific neurodegenerative mechanisms, better knowledge of the pathological processes and the ability to efficiently recognize the differences between neurodegenerative diseases are essential. Maxime Montembeault's research examined a parameter that had never been studied in AD: the links between gray matter volumes in different areas of the brain. His work serves to advance knowledge on the early stages of AD and could eventually help improve the quality of life of those who suffer from AD and their family members.
