At a meeting on June 5, the board of directors of the FRQS approved the 2016–2017 awards and grants programs.
Program information and e-forms will be released online during the week of July 13.
The main changes affecting all of the 2016–2017 programs pertain to the competition deadlines, which are now set at 4:30 p.m. (instead of 11:59 p.m.), as well as to the required texts and documents on the applicant's citizenship and domicile and the indirect research costs. In addition, a text on the responsible conduct of research was added in the commitments section (applicant and research director).
With regards to the training awards, the key changes pertain to the number of work hours per semester, which was increased from 150 hours to 225 hours for master's and PhD students. Changes were also made to the training site selection process and the option to concurrently hold a training award and carry out a research internship.
